"Scotch Boilers" by G. Boulanger
The painting depicts stokers keeping the fires going by shoveling coal into two Scotch Marine Firetube Boilers. The class of ship these boilers were fitted on is still to be identified. The first batch of WWII Corvettes had two such boilers, but not in the same boiler room. HMCS Niobe had Belleville Boilers and it too has been ruled out...or maybe these were auxiliary boilers on this ship. This painting was also created by G. Boulanger.
G. Boulanger was a stoker who sailed on Iroquois in 1957.
